Wedding planning bu Frances Liu of Charmed Events Group
Cathy and Patrick are Disney aficionados. Their first date was at Disneyland and Patrick proposed to Cathy at Disneyland. It was only fitting that their wedding was to happen at Disneyland itself! Cathy’s favorite Disney movie is the Little Mermaid so the wedding was themed around that using a beautiful color palette of seafoam, coral, gold and white.
A lot of shells, starfish, ribbons and the spectacular visionary designing skills of the Charmed Events Group were used to bring the wedding’s fairytale love to life. To see all of the Disney-filled details of this wedding, view the full gallery here, all photographed by the highly talented Il Mare Photography.
From the Bride:
Getting married at Disneyland was one of the best decisions of my life. First and foremost, it brought my relationship with my husband full circle. Our first date back in 2005 was at Disneyland, he proposed at Disneyland in 2011, so of course it was a no brainer to lock down Disneyland as our wedding venue. Second, it gives us an excuse to go back at least once a year, most likely on future wedding anniversaries.

For the Guestbook and Escort Cards, Charmed Events Group decided to do a play on “a message in a bottle.” For the guestbook, guests were invited to “leave a message” for the couple. A custom wooden plank board was built for the messages to be displayed on which will become future artwork for the couple’s home. Guests names and seating assignments were inside a gold glittered tube on a bed of stand.
A scroll program emulated King Triton’s scroll and seafoam and coral ribbon wands were waved by quests as the couple walked down the aisle. As a loyal Disney fan, only Disney Fairytale music was allowed while the Bridal Party was getting ready, Cathy walked down the aisle to the Tangled Soundtrack, and the Little Mermaid soundtrack was the music of choice for the dinner reception. Don’t miss the phenomenal job Fleuretica did of draping the ceremony arch with seashells and orchids.
For the Reception, each guest had a love knot and seashell for their place setting and each table was indicated by a glass bottle with hanging seashells in it. One of our favorite details was the “Happily Ever After” sign made in nautical rope to adorn the background of the head table.
